History

Byblos Bank Armenia CJSC was established in December 2007. Today, the Bank has four branches in Yerevan where customers access various banking services and receive financial advice.

The history and the tradition of the Bank root back to Byblos Bank S.A.L. We have prepared a brief chronological overview highlighting the important dates and events that shaped the Bank into what it is today.

2007

Founded in December 2007, Byblos Bank Armenia CJSC is the outcome of a 100% stake acquisition of International Trade Bank in Armenia by Byblos Bank.

2008

In 2008, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) participated in the chartered capital of Byblos Bank Armenia, the shareholding structure was the following: EBRD-25%, OFID-10%.

2012

Byblos Bank Armenia officially opened its "Komitas" branch on 18 April, at 38/2 Komitas street.

2016

On 22 June 2016, Byblos Bank S.A.L. replenished the chartered capital of Byblos Bank Armenia, as a result of which the shareholding structure was as follows: Byblos Bank S.A.L.-88.06%, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-8.53% and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID)-3.41%.

2016

Byblos Bank S.A.L. acquired the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) shares in Byblos Bank Armenia’s chartered capital on June 27 2016, and the shareholding structure of Byblos Bank Armenia CJSC after the changes is as follows: Byblos Bank S.A.L.-96.59% and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID)-3.41%.

2016

Byblos Bank S.A.L. OPEC Fund for International Development’s (OFID) shares in Byblos Bank Armenia’s charter capital on July 26 2016. The shareholding structure of Byblos Bank Armenia c C.J.S.C. after the changes is as follows: Byblos Bank S.A.L. - 100%.

2020

Byblos Bank Armenia officially opened its new branch at 6 Abovyan street on 25 September.

2021

The Bank's 4th branch was opened at 84/1 Baghramyan street.
